Surfer's Moment in Time
Our little boy, Surfer, a beautiful puppy from the very start,
You were always so unaided and notably smart.
The time we spent together made memories abound,
Now, those memories lay quiet without sound.
Why in the world did you never like your own kind?
But yet lay with small kittens -- treasured friends you did find.
Other close friends were a flock of family chickens
You would herd from time to time,
A true guardian of shepherds’ that once did shine.
Oh, if we could go back to those days in the sun,
With countless pride together you were so much fun.
A treasure, I was there when you were born,
And with you on your days’ final journey I did morn.
No more trials in life you have to endure,
You have done your moment in time that’s for sure.
Rest in peace our gorgeous German Shepherd Dog;
May you now walk in the path of your maker, God!
